Biography:
Fundada en 1.992 por Jairo Alberto Moreno en la ciudad de Armenia (Colombia). AKASH es un término gnóstico que tiene que ver con el continuo fluir del éter en el universo, y el origen del bien y del mal. Ganadora del festival Café Rock realizado en la misma ciudad. Editó su primer trabajo musical denominado “FUERA DE CONTROL” en 1.996, en formato casete (Este trabajo fue remasterizado en C.D. en 2.011 junto con otros temas inéditos de la banda) logrando reconocimiento dentro de la escena local. Posterior al sismo que sacudió el eje cafetero, AKASH obsequió la canción “Esperanza, fe y amor” con la cual se realizó un video que se convirtió en el himno a la reconstrucción, adoptado por el FOREC y transmitido nacionalmente. En el 2.003 realiza el lanzamiento de su primer disco compacto “MÁS ALLÁ DE LA REALIDAD”, con gran aceptación dentro del público latinoamericano, con hits como “Una sonrisa al atardecer”, “Sol y luna”, “Ángel”, “No volverás” y “Salamandra” entre otros. Este álbum se encuentra catalogado como uno de los 100 mejores trabajos del rock colombiano en el libro del periodista Argentino Pablito Wilson. En 2.008 edita “RESURRECCIÓN” con éxitos como “Tu sombra en mi pared”, “Hielo de fuego”, “Luchar y perder” y “A brindar por el rock”. Ese mismo año participa en la creación del álbum “The Golden beast” editado por EMI, como tributo a la primera venida de IRON MAIDEN a Colombia, al ganar el concurso como representantes del eje cafetero, con “El vuelo de Ícaro” (único cover en español del álbum). Las canciones “Una sonrisa al atardecer”, “Sol y luna”, “Ángel”, “No volverás” y “Tu sombra en mi pared” están dentro del listado de las mil canciones más representativas en la historia del rock colombiano de todos los tiempos. En el 2.015 se hace el lanzamiento del álbum “NEUROSIS” con un sonido mucho más rockero, pero sin perder su esencia. Canciones como “Neurosis”, “Cáncer”, “Ya no sé respirar”, “Artilugio” y “Ángeles del Armagedón” rápidamente han sido adoptadas por los fans como sus favoritas. Se grabaron videolirics para “Ya no se respirar” y “Cáncer”. En 2.016 se integra a la banda el conocido vocalista Roberto Munard (ex integrante de la agrupación Doble vía) y Después de la participación de AKASH en el festival TAIQUENAJU, se graba el video en vivo de un clásico de la banda (No volverás). El sencillo “El inicio de una historia” es lanzado en diciembre de 2.016 con un video musical por las diferentes redes. Para principios de 2.017, el más reciente sencillo “Somos más que la guerra y la paz”, refleja un sonido mucho más contundente, con un mensaje fuerte de crítica social de la situación política del país. "Y soy yo", "Carne de mi carne" y "Piel ardiente" son el abrebocas del nuevo trabajo discográfico, que se estará lanzando a principios de 2.020. AKASH ha participado en numerosos festivales a nivel nacional, tales como TESEO FEST (Bucaramanga), ALTAVOZ (Medellín), TAIQUENAJU (Valle) y Convivencia Rock (Pereira), entre otros y alternado con bandas internacionales tales como Scorpions (Alemania), Cinderella (USA), Paul Di Anno (Inglaterra), Ángeles del infierno, Mago de Oz, Saratoga, Barón rojo, Dragonfly (España), Andrea Echeverry, Julio Navas, Kraken, Ekhymosis y Kronos (Colombia) entre otros. Además ha realizado 4 giras por Ecuador. Akash ha sido la única banda de rock que ha participado en The colombian fest en Chicago (U.S.A.) Actualmente, la discografía completa de AKASH se encuentra disponible en las principales plataformas digitales, para poder ser escuchada y/o descargada en cualquier parte del mundo.
