Biography:
Sussex native Pete Davies has returned to land with a new single ‘Home and Dry’ after a 33-year hiatus from the music industry. Having worked with Robin Scott & Brigit Vinchon (M - Pop Muzik) and having had tracks produced by prolific musicians such as the late Chas Hodges (Chas and Dave), along with achieving songwriting credits for the household singer Mike Berry in the 1980s, Pete Davies was a name familiar to many in the music business. His hit song ‘I’m A Computer’ gained airplay on BBC Radio 1 marking a career highlight. But life was to take an unpredictable direction. ‘’Our lives tend to be games of Snakes and Ladders, with successes often followed by an unexpected fall or unexpected calamity’’ - Pete Davies Struggling to support a young family during the early 80s, Pete’s musical career was put on hold when he trained to be a deep sea diver in the North Sea, returning home 33 years later on the death of his wife.
Now he is using music as a way to explore his natural creative flair again and will release his song ‘Home and Dry’ on November 10th 2018. Recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios, Pete Davies’ sound has a distinctive retro Pop/Rock sound which holds proximity with the likes of the Beatles, The Kinks and The Divine Comedy.
Pete says of his new release: “Home and Dry is very personal and deals with the bewilderment and inability to understand what goes wrong when a relationship ends. Themes such as loss and rejection are explored in a number of my songs but I try to match them equally with musical harmony. My story is consistent in that it reflects my life; however our lives tend to be peppered with contradictions.”
Back in the saddle, with a guitar firmly in his grip, Pete Davies intends to keep recording and releasing throughout 2018 and beyond.
