Biography:
Since SkyCall —a Colmar, France-based band—split up in 2023, Fabrice Duval (psychiatrist by day and "rockstar" 😊 by night), the band’s visionary leader, continues to channel the psychedelic ethos into a captivating solo project.
Balancing a thriving medical career as head of a psychiatric department and pioneering research in chronobiology with a lifelong passion for music, Duval’s musical journey has been eclectic and electrifying: from N’Kap Koulou (1984-1987) to Tax Free (1990-1999), Absinthe Faubourg (2003- 2005) to collaborations with Sébastien Leimacher (Magic Yerba Plaza [2007-2012] and 61 Steps [2015-2016]), he eventually formed SkyCall in 2019 with former Tax-Free bassist Luc Erwin and drummer Didier Hoffmann (replaced in 2021 by Amanda S.), but it was their eventual disbanding in 2023 that marked a turning point. Finalizing the band’s future LP has become a solo mission for Duval, who handles all vocals, guitars, bass, and drums on this album. With the help of Alexandros Chrysidis, who mastered the song at Sierra Studios in Athens, Greece, "the final result is captivating (1111CR3W)".
"Describing SkyCall’s music is like stepping into a vivid dream, where each note and beat casts an indelible spell (RockCharts)". "Duval's compositions weave together philosophical introspection and psychedelic sonic textures, creating pieces that resonate on multiple emotional and intellectual levels (KIMU)". Songs that are not just emotional expressions but intellectual puzzles, urging the listener to probe deeper into the nature of their experiences. SkyCall's music is more than just a nostalgic nod to classic rock. It's a sophisticated construct that bridges the gap between past and present, offering a fresh take on the genre. "It's a twirl of kaleidoscopic sound sending you spinning with reckless abandon; however, you are held in a warm embrace enjoying every second of the whirlpool (The Other Sides Reviews)".
The LP in preparation should contain 9 tracks. It should be released around mid-2025. So far 7 singles have been released on streaming platforms. “Wendy” was released on May 10, 2024; “Amy”, was released on June 21, 2024; “Are You Ready Now?” was released on August 18, 2024 (55 years after Jimi Hendrix's performance at Woodstock)—the final solo is recommended for 6-string aficionados; “Stop Living With Your Eyes Closed” was released on October 30, 2024; "Dream On Mars" was released on January 14, 2025; "Time To Get Ahead" was released on April 1, 2025; "The Green Ray" was released on May 15, 2025.
