Biography:
King Dari is an upcoming artist based in Kansas City, MO. born and raised with a gospel background, King Dari uses elements of both sacred and secular music to influence his music. — “I have been creating music since 2012, when I was 14 years old. It wasn’t until I was 18 that I actually started writing legitimate songs, and it wasn’t until 2017 that I actively started pursuing a music career. My whole life, music has been a part of who I am. It resonates within me, much like the rest of the world. When I’m sad, or something in the world happens, music is my safe haven.”
King Dari first decided to start music when one of his closest friends gave him a parting wisdom months before he passed. "If you want something, you gotta chase it. Who gives a F@&$ what anyone else thinks?" He dedicates his music career to him, and hopes he's smiling down at him.
An avid gamer, reader, and poetry writer, King Dari uses these, as well as his time in nature, to find inspiration within his music and life. "Inspiration is everything", he states, "it's in everything that we do, see or touch."
Life hasn't always been too kind, however. Graduation from a music program during a pandemic, and mental illness have definitely been a huge factor in Dari's life--but that doesn't stop him from still pursuing his goals in life, and he instead used it as fuel to create in the last 2 years.
His most recent releases are 4 singles, several freestyles on his various socials (@xking_darius on TikTok; King Dari on YouTube) an EP, and an upcoming 2 part mixtape that will be released in it’s entirety before summers end. He is also "currently working on multiple collaborative projects with other upcoming artists" in the Kansas City area, and hopes to complete and release them soon.
King Dari is incredibly grateful for this opportunity, and thanks everyone who has supported him on his journey.

To change as many lives with my music with the time that I am given. And have a solidified fan base by next year.
Music Education | Training | Qualifications:
I have a Bachelors degree in Music Technology and Industry, and have been classically trained for 5 years at Missouri Western State University.
Musical Instruments | Studio Equipment:
Logic Pro X , MacBook Pro. I have an Alesis V25; 2 Blue Yeti Microphones and a Focusrite solo w/ 2 monitors. It’s simple, but simpler is better in my book when creating music!
Influences | Sounds Like:
Kendrick Lamar , Childish Gambino, Michael Jackson and Coast Contra, among many others! You could find my CDs by Kid Cudi if they were in stores.
Live Performance History | Residencies | Touring Experience:
Yes, I’ve performed 4 shows in the last year, the most recent being last month. I am also involved in the Coast 2 Coast competition in August, and I am in the running for Audacy’s Opening Act at the Hollywood bowl.
