Biography:
Originally from Canada, I come from a career in broadcasting (on air and creative) and ad agencies (creative department) in both Chicago and Nashville. My first release was on AVI Records in California with a Chicago band named Jwri Faktor and the Backporch Symphony. After moving to Nashville, I landed two cuts with a new artist in the mid 90s named LeAnn Rimes, one on her "Blue" Album (Good Lookin' Man" ) and one on the "Early Years" album (Sure Thing). Later, a song I cowrote was translated by the label owner into Latvian and made the pop charts in that country under the title "Tev Miera Nav" (on youtube). I wrote a topline for a Swedish producer's EDM track titled "I Only Want You". Another Chicago artist also recorded some of my jazz vocals. About a dozen songs currently get airplay although my royalties usually amount to a couple digits in dollars. I write in a range of genres because I like a range of genres. The song I've entered for an audition is a new recording of a song I wrote some time ago that needed a real blues talent and good musicians. Since I have worked in Nashville, I do not call myself a musician because those players are real thing. This is the first time I have hired Richard Waters. I found him after the singer I had used, the blues man James "Nick" Nixon ,died. This is also the first season with producer Kenny Z. Both he and Richard are Nashville based. This was a remote project since I recently moved from Chicago to the Seattle area. My catalog now numbers in the 700s,. Photo is the artist Richard Waters.
