Biography:
Born in Kuwait to Lebanese parents, el Hashem (birth name Antoine Elhashem), has lived in Toronto, Canada since the age of 19. Influenced by his aunts, who is considered an iconic trailblazing super star of women in music in the golden era, el Hashem has loved to sing since he was a child. A successful career in media and community leadership dominated his time, not only until recently that el Hashem took the leap to pursue one of his life passions, singing. The journey started with a successful debut of a singles-combo set covering two wonderful songs, one Arabic and one English song, Azez Alaya and Self Control. It was followed by covers of Sah’man Ramana, La Isla Bonita, Feno (Where is My love), and No Ordinary Love, all received wonderfully, with el Hashem gaining more than 140,000 streams on Spotify since debut. His music video for “Sah’man Ramana” featuring the rare love story of an Arabic same sex love, went on to play many music video festivals in Europe, and placed Awards Winner at Tagore International Film Festival and Virgin Spring Cinefest (while being selected or placing semi finalist in Beyond the Curve International Film Festival, High Tatras Film & Video Festival, International Short Film Awards, Rome Music Video Awards, and Munich Music Video Awards) Recently el Hashem released his first original work, a love song and celebration of mothers and motherhood around the globe (that he wrote when he was missing him mom and her hugs during covid lockdowns). Dance version and music video are on the way. In 2022 el Hashem will be releasing more covers packaged into EPs titled “Zakerat / Memories”, along with more exciting original work. el Hashem invites listeners to, “celebrate the music together…relive the memories together.” Having grown up feeling “different” from those around him, el Hashem has always wanted to create a world full of things that can bring joy and enjoyment to people.

No just some one on one vocal coaching, and some training by a very well known a respected singer aunt who is considered one of Lebanon's pioneers in music

Influences | Sounds Like:
Someone said I sound like Pet Shop Boys. I do get a lot of comparison to famous Arabic singers ( I sing in both languages English and Arabic). I would like to be in the category of George Michael

Having only started in the last 8 months, I have a done a few virtual shows during covid, and recently did my first live gig
