Biography:
My first exposure to music composition was from classic Nintendo music. I recall running down the stairs to the house keyboard and trying to pick out the melodies from the games that I loved. In my own time (around the age 10 or so) I was using a music program on Windows and putting together my own music, as well as arranging different variants of the tunes from these games. Years later I started to utilize FL Studio and since then I've produced many remixes for YouTube, with some getting 100k+ views. I try to be ambitious with these remixes because I derive a lot of inspiration from progressive rock artists. I enjoy pushing the track lengths to be much longer and I also improvise a lot of my own melodies in the tracks. I feel my biggest strength is that I pride myself on adding my own style to all of my arrangements. The track I've included in this application is entirely original and I created it specifically because I was prompted to apply. (Though I will likely release it on SC and YT)
Career Goals | Objectives:
My main goal is to get my music heard or simply to acquire the opportunity to make a living doing so. My dream job would be to create music for the video game industry. I also think producing instrumentals is very easy and fun, so I'd love to have a vocalist to consistently work with in order to create something more mainstream.
Music Education | Training | Qualifications:
Not much; primarily I learned to play by ear and developed skills using FL Studio/plugins in my own time. I took Composition/Music Production classes in college, though it was not my major.
Musical Instruments | Studio Equipment:
My go-to is currently FL Studio. I use a midi keyboard, and I occasionally record guitar on my tracks as well, though that instrument is not my forte. Growing up I used Magix Music Maker, and occasionally GarageBand as well. Kontakt was a crucial plugin for many years as well, but in more recent years I've been using HALion 6.
Influences | Sounds Like:
My favorite band is Dream Theater, but my main publicity has been pretty niche. I'm done a lot of video game covers on YouTube, so I haven't often been compared to mainstream rock or pop bands.
