Biography:

I'm Sloth. I've been writing and playing for as long as I can remember. Government name is Franklin, but that's lame. This particular group (Sloth Racer) has only been around for a couple years. We like jammin, we like playing originals, we play some cover gigs to pay the bills, but our original shows hold our big collective hearts. I've been playing with various other groups and members for a long time but these guys just check all the boxes. We love to have fun, and fun means getting on stage and grooving. Hard. Each of us comes from a different musical background, hitting every genre from classical guitar to country to metal. Because of that, we have found a really unique sound in our live shows that transcends genres and appeals to even the crowds in our little southern town. Growing up down here in the good ol' southern USA, typically you don't hear anything like what we play. The local stages are dominated by country, Americana, and classic rock n roll. Our unique flavor of reggae/rock tends to be a breath of fresh air for our crowds.

Career Goals | Objectives:

Getting signed would help with promotion a TON, but more than anything we want to increase our following and play for more people. Its the dream, right?

Music Education | Training | Qualifications:

Nope. I'm a classic college dropout that makes music.

Musical Instruments | Studio Equipment:

Gibson SGs. Three of em, to suit my mood. Fender Hot Rods on stage for both guitarists. My lead guitarists signature guitar is a Gibson Flying V and it is BEAUTIFUL. Our drummer plays a custom SJC kit, and is sponsored by them as well. In the studio (our studio) we record through a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 into whatever DAW is the flavor of the week. I like Studio One, drummer (Who also is a mix engineer) likes Logic. Generally we bounce stems between them both. Slate mics for vocals, Axe FX 3 for guitars, full set of AKG for drums.

Influences | Sounds Like:

Ballyhoo, 311, Sublime

Live Performance History | Residencies | Touring Experience:

Oh yeah. Covid has slowed us down, but typically 2 gigs a week.
