Biography:

Branden Hall goes by several rap names: Lightning Scar Branden, Lover Boy Lightning, Thatts RVN, Slimy Boy Draco. He produces music under two names: Lightning Hits, and Lightning Slapz Beatz. His short form name is L$B. His music under the pseudonym, Lightning Scar Branden represents his hardcore love for the Harry Potter series. On the other hand, Lover Boy Lightning is a singer first, rapper second who appeases to the ladies he loves so much. Thatts RVN provides conscientious tunes. Slimy Boy Draco is intense and at times violent. He is always raw and unfiltered. All of his altar egos combine to make one dynamic artist and human being. He was born in South Miami Heights, Florida to two loving Jamaican parents. After his father had a stroke, Branden decided to devote himself fully to music, writing, and film. He attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando and graduated with an undergraduate degree in Creative Writing and Ad/PR. His biggest influence is his older brother, rapper Tyrell Tyler aka Ty Law. Branden loves to play basketball and is trying out for several G-League basketball teams when the league returns to action. Him and his brother Horacio write the hip-hop comic Stratum 21, which is a product of Fiyah.TV His first major performance is when he opened for Yung Simmie. Since then, he has opened for Paul Wall, Mark Battles, and KRS-One.

Music Education | Training | Qualifications:

I studied music privately in elementary with a classically trained singer. I studied poetry cadence at UCF in the group Project SPIT. I study music theory and composition at Full Sail University in the MFA program. I also received private lessons from a member of my an A capella group I'm in called Studio 38. I learned to rap quickly from my brother Tyrell Tyler. While writing the hip-hop themed comic book Stratum 21, I learned how to write raps and songs for others to record. I worked with Kiana Lede's manager to come up with reference music.




Musical Instruments | Studio Equipment:

I have a tascam and a mic that is great for recording live as well as in studio. My girlfriend has a mic with a calibrator. I also record music on my phone and mix it to the one-thousandth degree. I make beats on logic pro x and pro tools. I have Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premeire Pro as well.
