Biography:
Angela “Missy” Billups is an American gospel recording artist, actress and spokesperson. Better known as “The Sweetheart of Gospel Music”. She rose to fame as a (3) time award Winner and finalist of the New York Tri-State McDonalds’ Gospel fest with several performances at the New York Madison Square Garden and New Jersey Prudential Arts Center, Newark, New Jersey. Her debut CD project “Determined” earned her several television appearances on the Trinity Broadcasting Network “Praise the Lord “program. After the release of her sophomore project “Church in” caught the ears ofentertainment industry executives, Angela was offered opportunities to appear on the David Letterman show singing behind Actor, Steve Martin, traveling with HBO Comedy Festival singing “Amazing Grace”, performing“New Jingle” for Cablevision, recording the “Battle Hymn of The Republic” for Warner Bros, as well as being the featured performer for a luncheon with the stars of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Angela has continued to garner success with her EP, “My Inspiration II”, and the chart topping praise and worship single of the same name; My Inspiration along with the hand clapping; “Victory Right Now” and the soul stirring ballad; “Your Love”. Angela’s current single is “Walking In Victory” an upbeat, contemporary gospel song. She was the recipient of the 2015 “Black Women Rock Award”, 2015 Women In Charg3 Music Award (Gospel Song of The Year) and 2016 Rhythm of Gospel Awards Nominee in (4) categories. Angela has made several appearances on the Bobby Jones Gospel Show (BET and Word Network), Atlanta Live and The Songwriters Circle Television Show. Angela was called upon to sing for dignitaries at the inauguration of the first female president of the University of Langston. Known both nationally and Internationally, Angela has toured throughout several parts of Europe to include(Italy, Switzerland and Rome) and as far south as the beautiful islands of Jamaica. Angela has lent her talents from coast to coast touching thousands upon thousands of hearts and souls through her music and voice. This gift of inspiration has opened the door for Angela to perform every year at The TD Five Boro Bike Tour where over 32,000 bikers from all over the world come together to roll through every borough of New York City. Angela sings memorable songs of comfort that create positive thinking. She has the vocal strength of Jennifer Hudson, the power of Tamela Mann and will take you to church like Beverly Crawford. Her warmth and genuine interaction make Angela a true crowd pleaser. Angela keeps a running calendar of bookings from acting, hosting of events, and singing performances.
