Biography:
Nakara "SoloStar" White was born and mostly raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She adopted the name SoloStar in 2010, representing her being a loner and shining regardless of her circumstances. A former U.S. soldier, college graduate and published author since the age of nine, Solo is well rounded. This shines through in her music with a rawness and relatability that sets her a part from other artists.
SoloStar has released two mixtapes entitled "DREAM CHA$IN'" (2011) and "Still Dreamin': The Duets" (2012), a collaboration project. She released the single and visual for “Love Letters” in 2016 and an EP in 2017, "Lost & Found". In 2018 she dropped the single "Mama's Gun" with Maya Marchelle and the highly anticipaed #Lovehangover EP in Spring 2019.
SoloStar is the co-founder of S.W.A.G.G. (Super Women Achieving Great Goals), an organization committed to supporting ambitious women of color by providing platforms and facilitating collaborative efforts.. She currently runs the #deependchallange program in partnership with the Minneapolis Park Board teaching black women how to swim physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. She is widely respected for her powerful stage presence and ability to connect with her audiences. Her ultimate goal with her artistry is to heal and inspire the masses through her candid perspective of everyday situations. She lives her life by the scripture Philippians 4:13 which states "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me."
