Biography:
Everyone has been calling me Winter since I started performing music after joining my first band in 2011, from Nashville, Tennessee. Since then I have traveled across the world, performing as a singer in various bands from the USA to Europe and Japan. To get to know me as an artist, I think it’s important to know how I have nurtured this identity through my chosen medium which is music. I’ve spent time learning how to play a few different instruments, but I’ve only ever performed as a singer. I studied music in school and took up playing guitar, drums, piano and singing. I could play the clarinet pretty well when I was younger but, I was not passionate enough to keep up with it. Singing is my biggest passion. I see myself as an experimental artist because I love to write compositions in every genre of music. I am very inventive and enjoy blending genres of music to create new sounds which haven’t yet been discovered. Underground music is what I enjoy listening to the most because that’s where you find creativity in it purest form. For me, this is where I find the rawest forms of expression which are transmuted into sounds that quite literally pull specific emotions out of you as the listener. Through my research on the sciences of music, I have discovered a really incredible method for writing composition that I am excited to use in producing my next album. The method involves the scientific conversion from the exact frequency of a musical notation into the correlating frequency that is seen on the visible light spectrum, allowing for the ability to literally paint with sound. On the deepest level, I wanted to understand sound as a medium of expression. I actually began my own research study about the correlations of frequency and vibration In contrast to human physiology. I developed a synthesizer, prototype in 2017, which I patented and called the “Heart Synth Monitor.” It uses a method of sonification to convert the pulse frequency of the human heart beat into the correlating musical notation on the MIDI scale and additionally converts this measurement into the according visible light waveform which can be projected as the relevant rgb values through a light machine. This is how I discovered it is possible to paint with music. I created a composition out of my own heart beat and watched the different colors of light being projected out from the light machine as it changed based on my level of physical activity. The ways in which I have seen music literally heal people has changed my entire perception about writing composition. I believe that to take a deep look into how your music is literally influencing the listeners emotional state, which in turn, alters their physical state, it is possible to create pain and relief through music. After this discovery, I realized how important it is to create music that heals. Mindfulness combined with artistic creation is one of the most powerful tools an artist can acquire.
