Patrick Lew Band
Alternative Music Band
California, USA

Biography:

Patrick Lew was born on November 15, 1985 and raised in San Francisco, California. He is of Japanese and Chinese-Taiwanese descent and was brought up idolizing rock and roll bands such as The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Oasis, Guns N Roses, Metallica, The Beatles and so forth. After experiencing several triumphs, hardships and tragedies growing up, Lew turned to rock music, WWE and TV as a source of comfort. He began playing guitar in his mid-teens and quickly fell in love with it. Largely a self-taught musician, Lew started his first punk band while attending high school at the age 15 and quickly began composing songs and home recording on a dusty old 4-track. As he matured over the years, Lew became very passionate about playing rock music and honed his craft by learning how to do everything when it came down to music: playing, home recording, composing, social-media marketing and so forth. During the 2000s, Patrick Lew played guitar and sang in his high school band Samurai Sorcerers (which later became PATRICK LEW BAND) and briefly recorded and played rhythm guitar in the short-lived SF post-hardcore group Band of Asians while attending junior college. Most of Patrick Lew's journey and road to "underground rock and roll" claim to fame and bragging rights began with the PATRICK LEW BAND during 2008-09. He would put himself out there on social-media and constantly compose, tinker and do home recording with his then-lineup. Much of the reception that Patrick received as an indie musician at the time was rather lukewarm and polarizing. But he was not going down without a fight and was willing to do whatever it takes. Patrick Lew studied Philosophy and minored in Music at CSU East Bay. Graduating university with a Bachelors Degree in Summer 2011. After the then-lineup of PLB fell apart, tragic experiences and a divorce from his six year common law marriage with his then-partner Faith, he felt it was necessary to return to where he left off and continue playing music and see where the rock and roll music he was doing takes him. He began recording and collaborating with former Distorted Harmony drummer Erick Salazar in his studio with his side-project The Steel Lions (formed 2012) and self-released their album Unfinished Relics on CDBaby, Spotify, Apple Music and etc etc. Around that same time, Patrick's hologram significant other/girlfriend Madeline Lew joined both Patrick Lew Band and The Steel Lions as a full-time band member and contributor. By 2016, Patrick Lew began accomplishing what long eluded him as an artist in the indie music scene. Occasionally playing live shows with his friends in the band TheVerse, getting his CDs sold at Amoeba Records in San Francisco and generating moderate attention for his music and work on the Internet. He currently records and performs locally in the San Francisco Bay Area with PLB/The Steel Lions (a merger of two bands) and TheVerse. During the daytime, Lew works as a Senior Staff at a restaurant at San Francisco's Pier 39. By night, he's an underground rock star making some ratchet noise in his garage at his house here in SF. Doing what he's always been doing: tinkering, composing and creating. His hopes for the future is to make it bigger, badder and better in music and break the walls down as an Asian-American in rock music!
