Biography:
I was hired as an assistant organist at the age of 14 at St. Gregory the Great Parish in Chicago, il. USA. I played keys in a rock band during high school and directed the "Landslide '68 touring group for Richard Nixon's 1968 Presidential Campaign at the age of 16. I held various positions as Music Director/Teacher over the years for several church denominations. I wrote the Cyndi Lauper parody "Boys Just Wanna Get Some" which led to my career in radio/TV. I am married to an incredibly talented woman and together we built several businesses and have 4 great kids. We had an awakening in 2008 when the real estate market crashed leaving us wondering why we had spent so many years chasing after money, cool toys, boats, cars and social status. We became REAL Christians for the first time and decided to use our talents where they were really needed and where most could not afford them. We met a missionary couple while vacationing in Belize where there are almost no music programs in the schools or churches. That is how we ended up in Central America teaching kids to sing, write and perform. We are not missionaries. We have provided our services for free to the churches and kids for the last 16 years. We are continually amazed at how God continues to bless us to do the impossible. The incredible peace, joy and knowledge we have received far outweighs anything we have given. What I have learned in 74 years is that you can NEVER out give the God of the Universe who created us! Blessings my fellow friends and musicians. Sam Glionna
