Biography:
A lifelong Pacific Northwest native, Meghanne Storey has always been surrounded by the natural beauty of the region—and the music within her. According to her mother, she began singing before she could even form full sentences, and by the age of 3, she had memorized the entire soundtrack to Jesus Christ Superstar. By 7, she joined the prestigious Seattle Girls’ Choir and learned theory as well as vocal techniques. At 14, she was selected for a unique project called Everyone Has a Song.
Her teenage years were marked by notable performances, including singing at multiple YouthCare fundraising event and delivering the National Anthem for the Tacoma Rainier's not once, but twice.
However, her life wasn't always easy. During the 1990s, she faced the challenges of homelessness, finding shelter in doorways, under bridges, and in parks. During this time, music became her anchor, a creative outlet that allowed her to process the complexities of her world. She began writing songs that not only gave her solace but also gave voice to her experiences.
Education was always very important to her so, as an adult, Meghanne attended and graduated from Seattle University, in 2007, with a Bachelor's in Psychology and Forensic Technologies, and two Master's degrees in Family Counseling and Special Education.
Today, Meghanne is an accomplished singer-songwriter, performing her music to audiences far and wide. Meghanne is known for her emotive, folk-inspired music. Her style often blends elements of indie, folk, and pop, with deeply personal lyrics and a focus on storytelling. Storey’s sound has been praised for its raw honesty and captivating melodies, often reflecting themes of love, loss, and self-discovery.
Her mission is deeply personal: to connect with people through her songs and her story. By sharing her journey, she aims to inspire empathy and understanding, encouraging others to see the humanity in everyone, no matter their life circumstances.
