Biography:
Mightier than a sword; the “Poison Pen”- debut EP Toronto based artist OUTLAW- lyrically fit, with a philosophical street-based storytelling ability afforded via early childhood exposure to domestic violence, foster care placements, multiple incarcerations and attempts made on his life all while enduring excessive force by TPS and YRP.
OUTLAWS creative approach to his craft has allowed him to dive deep into his life experiences as a Trinidadian-Canadian hailing from Toronto’s West end; the Jane Strip. Some of OUTLAWS earliest memories were of the darker corners the area bestowed.
Last born to his loving Mother, with 2 siblings OUTLAW grew up in humble beginnings. With lack of Paternal influence, he quickly turned to the streets and found community amongst peers which led OUTLAW to numerous incarcerations circa 1999-2014.
OUTLAWS resume boasts shows at underground and other showcases (Bluzz Bizzare & open mics in the city) and can also be found on YouTube and Spotify.
Influenced by the likes of Big pun, Das Efx, Guru, Big L, LL Cool J and 2Pac. OUTLAWS new tape delivers a gritty introspective comparison between emotional hood type love ballots vs a raw look at life through his eyes. His repertoire, touching on social justice, equality and with a touch of political satire, his engaging, thought provoking lyrics mean there’s something for everyone; for those who appreciate true music.
