Biography:
Singer-songwriter Bill Hartmann captivates audiences with his remarkable storytelling, crafting lyrics that resonate deeply. His musical style draws comparisons to the legendary James Taylor and Harry Chapin. Hailing from Mountaintop, Pennsylvania, Bill’s musical journey began when his parents gifted him a guitar and music lessons. He honed his craft in a garage band and, fueled by a passion for music, transitioned to a solo and duo act, becoming a popular performer across the Northeast with his unique blend of acoustic rock, folk, and country. After relocating to sunny Boca Raton, Florida in 1991, Bill initially set aside his musical aspirations to focus on work while supporting his wife through a health challenge. However, the spark reignited at an open mic, inspiring him to jump back into the music scene and share his passion once again. His debut CD, "Now and Then" is a heartfelt collection of songs that chronicles his life’s journey, leading to the poignant title track that reveals his doubts and hopes for the future. Bill's innovative "movie in my head" songwriting method brings his music to life, and his follow-up CD, "Just Like Water," produced by the accomplished Fernando Perdomo and mastered by Grammy winning Zach Ziskin showcases this cinematic style. In addition to opening for the Farewell Angelina Band and the Joe Cotton Band, as well as appearances on BalconyTV Miami, Folk & Acoustic Music WLRN Radio, and IndieFlorida Blog Talk Radio, Bill’s music video for "Younger Days," directed by the talented Michael Eldon Lobsinger, won the award for Best Music Video featuring a solo artist at the L-DUB Film Festival. When he's not on stage, you can find him enjoying the local music scene, always with his signature fedora in tow.
