Biography:

Born on a mountaintop in Tennessee...just kidding. I'm not Davy Crockett. I was born in Spokane, Washington in December of 1958. At the ripe age of 2 months, I was adopted by my parents on my dad's birthday. At age 6, I wrote my first song, "I'm Riding a Pony" on a "Schroeder" piano. I began writing poetry at a young age to combat continuous bullying under various pseudonyms including "Anonymouse" and "Medusa" during dark periods. A piece, "Strawberry Wine" was written about suicide. Not one of my happier times. Our family moved from Washington to Madison, Wisconsin in 1965, living on Masthead Dr on the West Side. Went to Thomas Jefferson Middle School and James Madison Memorial High School. Dane County Colliseum was THE place to see concerts. For $6!!! We moved to New England in November of 1975, as a Sophomore in High School. I was never a model student but wound up with the nickname of Matanuska Thunderfuck, because I was one of the few that could get weed from Alaska. It was shortened to Matanuska T., and then to Nuskat T., as it was easier to pronounce when you were under the influence... Hee hee. I served in the Air Force, came home and continued my poetics. I had one incredible teacher that ran a poetry venue. Her name was Faith. It was during that time I looked for a new "nom de plume". And I realized that if you put Nuskat T. together, it became "Nuskat." (pronounced new scat). During the 90's I did performance poetry, won numerous contests and won awards. My favorite being Iliad Press "Presidential Award for Literary Excellence". The worst thing ever to happen to me was to be rated in the top 250 writers in the nation for my poetics. I became the world's biggest ass. My ego could not be measured. I was much too young for that honor. So I walked away from the industry. 5 years ago I became a security guard, winding up working at a well known music venue in Port Chester, NY. On top of that, a childhood friend returned from Nashville to settle back here. Music became important to me once again and I started to play guitar more and write music. I was coerced into playing open mics by friends from the venue. My friend asked me jam with him one day and we played for 5 hrs. Straight. Blisters and all. I wound up writing/collaborating/singing/playing and producing a CD with him called Harvest 2.0 which contained older music from an older band and new music we wrote together. In April of 2025 I played my first fest at Stella Blues in New Haven, Ct. with around 10 other artists. I've also played at GoonFest2025 in Turin, NY at Snow Ridge Ski Resort in June of 2025 at the bequest of the promoters after hearing one of my love songs at another gathering somewhere else. I'm also an addict in recovery with close to 30 years being a "good boy". I don't judge but I do write and compose recovery music for many aspects. NuskatMusica can be found in most corners of the internet world. I had to change it a bit as my name was once unique. It isn't anymore. But my music still is. I consider it country, as it's the way I was raised. An intermix of cultures and life experiences. I can only hope you enjoy it as much as I have in creating it.
