Biography:
Dameon Strong aka “Southern Soul” DBN Damo is from the small town of Shelby, Mississippi. From singing “World’s Greatest” at his headstart graduation to singing lead on “Conqueror” at his high school graduation, Damo has always been touched by the music Gods. His soulful sound and resonating lyrics stem from his tough relationship with his mom and his failed relationship with girls. Despite always on different pages with his mom, Damo found solice in music. It wasn’t until 2022 that Damo realized that music was his path. Being put out of the house previously, didn’t open his eyes. But the last time it all clicked for him. His music journey as an artist finally had a beginning. Around late 2024 Damo discovered that the late great Delta Blues Singer Robert Johnson was in his family lineage. “I always knew music was my passion but once I discovered Robert, I knew music was my purpose.” Damo said. “I believe my great grandfather’s legacy is what sets me apart. I have the roots. I have the blood. And now that I know that, I can be great and take it further than my great grandfather did.” The single that Damo is most proud of is “Boot Scoot”. That was the song that got him a foot in the door of Southern Soul Blues. That single was also very personal to Damo because it proved to him that he could write blues after thoughts of self doubt for a long time. “I knew I had the blues in me, I just didn’t know where it came from & how I could get it out of myself.”

Right now I need more gigs which will lead to me finding a manager. I would also like to begin selling records

I was in my high school band whic led to a band scholarship to Mississippi Valley State University. I left Valleys band to join choir. Didn’t finish school but I did go back to Full Sail University for a while

BandLab, on my MacBook connected to my Scarlett interface. I can’t do without my headphones. The comfort and the playback is needed for me
