Biography:
I’m Jem . Boston native and certified walking-talking jukebox (as my mom would say), coming to (hopefully) a stage near you. I’ve been singing my whole life, and I’ve had a lot of issues with my voice growing up. It took a while for me to love it. Now that I do, I love the music I make even more and I just want to spread some love. This world is hard, it’s full of ups and downs, and sometimes you get turned backwards. I’ve had my fair share of issues with life and I use my music to get through. I speak through my music, feel through my music, love through my music; I guess I just want share that. Share what it’s like to be knocked down, or held down by something, but also what it’s like to get back up. Share what’s it like to have love lost, but also what it’s like to have love found. Share what it’s like to feel defeated and broken, but also what it’s like to feel empowered. At least from my perspective. I dropped my first song in 2018, and ever since I will admit it’s been a little sporadic, but I’ve been exploring what I can create. I’ve been doing a lot of open mics and karaoke nights, finding my voice and finding what works for me. I think it’s helped because, in my opinion, my music has gotten better and will only continue to do so. I just hope that you guys love what I have to offer, and if not, thank you for listening anyway☺️

Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill. I would say I’m really influenced by all 90’s music.

Yes, however I’ve only done 3 shows in the past 12 months with my music. I do a lot of open mic and karaoke though.
