Biography:
My name is Jordy Lee . I have been writing music since 2016 to type beats and behind the lyrics of the hottest songs at the time, then I decided to put that knowledge to work and started making my own beats during covid lockdown in 2020 on the GarageBand app, which developed quickly considering I had a despicable amount of time on my hands. Due to life's circumstances (and working 2 jobs), I was never really able to focus on my music until this year when I lost my full-time job. My music is a real familiar sounding blend of electro, trap and pop-rap music (with some different elements like jazz every once in a while). I try to keep my music within the confines of mainstream sound but with an experimental twist on the tone and lyrics. While I am a part of the LGBTQ+ community, I feel my lyrics help to transcend the level of meaning mixed within a songs general sound. Making this all my own that I can't really copy from others. Of course, I get influences from the icons in today's industry but "often imitated, never replicated" is something I have been constantly reminding myself of when I start to gather influence on a sound, I don't have much experience mixing my vocals with (i.e pop-singing and dance music).
I have a background in show choir and being the manager. Which means I kept track of the entire team's makeup, costumes, set pieces, and all-around morale before and after every performance, so naturally another facet of my artistic abilities is around design and show production. If (and when) my music plays out successfully, I want to be able to stick my hooks in every outlook of my performances, from music videos to tour/live show design (i.e track list, wardrobe, choreography and logistics) to advertising myself and music on social media. I know that's a pretty common statement amongst artists, but in high school I designed tons of "shows that could be" and even passed with flying colors on my courses final exam of designing a full length show complete with a priced packaging list for all items regarding arrangements and individual price per body.
I like to play videogames (most recently Marvel Rivals) and watch anime when I get a second to relax, but mostly I like when I start making a song so I can play with sound samples and really let my songwriting run wild before I settle on what to record. My dislikes include extended periods of exercise, people that wake me up in the middle of sleeping and the word "secretion". If my dislikes were to be included in anything about music, I would probably say I dislike how nobody wants to just blindly support by liking and all they want is $50 to market some posts across bot accounts.
While everything I mentioned above is pretty telling about my personality, I feel that it would be incomplete if I didn't mention my "dirty habits". One habit I have is if I go to a general a crowded place where I know someone will try to interact with me (the bar I work at, the dive bar with friends, or even gas station), I put in my headphones with nothing playing and put on a solid gold RBF, which usually will deter people from interacting with me, unless it's a friend who knows my tactic. (Now I'm not a bad guy or anything, but my social battery runs on empty more often than not.)
Hopefully you'll hear more from me soon!
