Biography:

Paternò Massimiliano born in Crotone on 20-01-1971 and residing in Bologna in via Pier de crescenzi 40, 40131, began playing the bass as a self-taught at the age of 17. Gradually in the rehearsal rooms and with the help of other musicians he also begins to learn the guitar, drums and percussion. Forms and leads a rock group in Calabria: The Mortimers where he composes his own songs and arranges covers such as: Ziggy Stardust (D. Bowie), The Magnificent Seven (Clash), Purple Haze (Jimi Hendrix), Simpaty for the devil (Rolling Stones) . In the 1990s he moved to Bologna to study Political Science, and came into contact with Peppe Voltarelli, founder of the Childbirth of heavy clouds with whom he began a collaboration. Later he recorded a demo with Sierra Charriba (hard rock) who will win the selection in Bologna for Arezzo Wave, the drums were recorded by Neffa who played with Negazione at the time. He also played African music with a group formed by a Senegalese boy who was later repatriated because he did not have a residence permit. He has been part of Reggae and Punk groups, which characterize his ability to play the most varied musical genres, thanks also to his musical culture open to almost 360°. Last collaboration with the Arangara ethno-rock group that collaborates in theaters with Carlo Lucarelli and Claudio Lolli, from which comes a CD produced by the record company Galletti-Boston of Faenza. He studied music as an autodidact, it is no coincidence that he has deep admiration for the autodidact par excellence: Jimi Hendrix.

Lately he has participated in the Clinics held in the S. Sisto hostel in Bologna, with relative certificate of attendance.

The clinics are:

FINGERSTYLE guitar conducted by the masters DAVIDE MASTRANGELO and PAOLO GIORDANO from 4 to 6 November 2011

RESOFONICA guitar conducted by the American guitarist and musician BOB BROZMAN from 16 to 18 December 2011

Artistic production conducted by maestro Vittorio Nocenzi leader of the Banco del Mutuo Soccorso.

Electric bass conducted by Micheal Marning, a student of Jaco Pastorious and unanimously recognized as the best solo bass player in the world.

From 15 February 2013 the single A noi ci piace l’hip hop was released on itunes and digital store label MTM Metamorphosis.

FROM March 2015 the song U Sud is present in the compilation Musica Protetta of Protosound Polyproiect.

In April 2016 the first solo album entitled U SUD was released with the English record company Sibeerecords.

The song U Sud by Massimiliano Paternò was released in the compilation Bongo Boy Beach by various international artists made on 06.21.2016 in Asia and on 07.04.2016 all over the world produced by the American international label Bongo Boy Records, producer Gar Francis and by journalist Monique Grimme.

In 2019 the first EP was released with the B BOOT RECORDINGS label…
