"I want to get my music out there. "
Biography:
I was born and raised in Southern California. My parents divorced when I was 4 I and starting playing the piano when I was about 7. I moved to Oregon when I was 12 and picked up the guitar and started learning on my own. Moving from the big city to the country was amazing and after high school, I went to OSU where I started playing piano again. Unfortunately, when I moved to Oregon I wasn't able to find another piano teacher, so I had a bit of a hiatus. I wrote my first full length song on piano during my senior year. A few years after college, my Dad passed away and I started writing songs as an emotional release. Then I started a craigslist band for a number of years and we were working on finishing our 1st album when our 6th drummer went on hiatus and moved out of town. Around this time I also went up to Tacoma, WA and tried out for America's Got Talent. I waited all day long and finally was given the chance to play and they just sent me away as they said original songs are rarely selected. That was pretty disheartening, however I realized that it was more difficult to practice with a band, being older and working full time. I decided I wanted to use my talent in a positive way and endeavored to write the most inspirational solo album that I could on my own with some new equipment and software. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to write and produce and full album on my own and the entire process took 7 years part time as I had just started a family and work full time. I wrote every lyric, beat and all the music as well as performed the vocals. I did all the mixing which took a long time to learn as well as had to figure out drums. Overall, it was a wonderful experience but I'm just finding it hard to get my music out there.
