Biography:
Henry Mittnacht was born in Heidelberg in 1964. The musician, who has performed live on stage every year since 1979, still remembers the moment when his passion for music took root. "When I was 10 years old, my parents gave me a radio recorder for Christmas, which made me incredibly happy. When I look back, I am very grateful to my parents for that. "The Hollies' song "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" was an early favorite, but it was the music of The Beatles that greatly influenced him at age 14 to learn the guitar and become a rock musician. Music soon became a way of life. He formed his first band at the age of 15, where he soon realized he had a burgeoning talent for writing his own songs. “Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple was one of my early heroes. That changed with Eddie Van Halen and of course Toto 's Steve Lukather . I also hear and feel a lot of Journey's Neil Schon in my guitar playing. "After years of playing in cover bands, Henry formed the band STATEMENT in 1989, where he was both guitarist and main songwriter. During this time Henry developed the raw talent he had for writing music into a blazing fire of rhythm and melody while honing his skills on the guitar.Drawing inspiration from The Beatles, Van Halen, Toto, Styx, Journey and Kansas , Henry continued to compose original music for the band. The band began with small performances to high audience approval. Word of mouth on how well STATEMENT spread further and eventually caught the attention of Face Records who signed the band to their record label. Based on this realization, Henry continued to develop his craft in order to create his own compositions. "One for the Money" was the band's first professionally produced album, released worldwide in 1993. With 10 tracks, the album received good reviews and was even re-released in Italy in 2010 with worldwide distribution. “Love Bites” was released in 1995 and was the band's second studio album and their biggest to date at 16 tracks. The album again received good reviews and featured on most lists for the best melodic rock/metal albums of the year. As the band grew, it was only natural that their fan base grew as well. STATEMENT continued touring through Germany and played in front of larger audiences in top-class gigs. With a more polished sound, Henry continued to captivate the crowd with his guitar playing.Henry toured and played semi-professionally with STATEMENT at music festivals throughout Europe throughout the 1990s. Her band was part of the line-up for the German Bike Week festival, a festival where they performed continuously for four years. STATEMENT has been the opener for artists like Manfred Man's Earthband, Uriah Heep, Molly Hatchet, Roger Chapman and Alvin Lee's Ten Years After. Performing in front of thousands, Henry was even able to share the stage with one of his role models as they performed the song "Hold the Line" with Toto 's Bobby Kimbal .Henry took a hiatus from the band STATEMENT in 2005, but his passion for writing, performing and recording his own songs continues to this day. He also now counts Jellyfish, Fall out Boy, John Mayer, guitarist Phil X, James Bay, The Script, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Foo Fighters as more recent sources of inspiration. The unbridled passion for music that Henry Mittnacht, aka " docmidnite " on many forums, possesses has prompted him to seek out more musical collaborations online via the Musician Collaboration Studio and on Kompoz , be it a sideman, guitarist, backing vocalist or more musical Arranger."I never stopped thinking, feeling and making music.
