Biography:
I grew up in the little town of Boring, in the state of Oregon. I was raised in a conservative and loving Baptist family. But I'm gay, so that didn't turn out too well. I joined the Navy and became a successful alcoholic. I was desperate to find love. I bottomed out and spent many of the following years learning to love myself. I do now. I came back to my native city of Portland, Oregon, and discovered that I love to live in the place I'm from, after all. I love the city's river and bridges. And I'm surrounded by a loving family, friends and boyfriend. That's what the song is about. It's a very happy ending. The photo is for the Spotify ad I'm running. (I cheated. I'm really 60 years old, although I still look pretty good.)
