Biography:
Government name Daytwaun Minter, Jux Strongarm is a highly skilled rapper from the hoods of Albany, N.Y. He is a former honor student and saxophone player that spent the times he wasn’t in class or band practice immersed in the streets with everything that comes with a criminal lifestyle. As a former gangbanger and drug dealer, he had enough sense to at least always keep a job and pursue greatness though school. However, in 2007, the street life caught up with him and he was arrested for 4 bank robberies and the attempted robbery of a gun-store while being connected to at least 14 other robberies. In a relatively unprecedented hood move, he chose not to “snitch” and was sentenced to 13 years hard time. He ended up doing 11 ½ years in New York State prisons and upon his release in December 2018, decided to pursue music full-time. Prior to being arrested, in late 2006 and early 2007, he released 2 mixtapes locally in Albany, N.Y. (Hood Righteous 1 & Hood Righteous 2) under the stage name Tweeze G. He makes gangsta music, conscious music, and female friendly music and uses clever punchlines to convey his points. Growing up, his favorite rappers were DMX, Nas, and Jay-Z. His favorite rap groups were Three-6-Mafia and Mobb Deep. Jux Strongarm has also said that if Biggie Smalls and 2Pac were alive today that gangsta music and conscious music would be “thriving in harmony” and he would like to make that happen. After his arrest in 2007 and subsequent conviction, when asked why did he do it he replied candidly “Shit happens”. Jux considers his style to be “Punch-Line Madness”, however, objectively speaking he can be considered similar to a super-gangsta J-Cole meets a contemporary Rakim.
