Biography:
GEORGE R. VINSON THE OL’ ONE-LEGGED COWBOY I was raised on a ranch in Northwest Montana. I started driving a team when I was 12 years old, and breaking horses when I was 14. It was a good way to grow up. At 18 years old I lost my left leg. At 38 my first wife threw me out in the road. I did have it coming, there wasn’t any doubt, but it was a lot of misery I could have lived without. I eventually went back to school and got a degree in Electronics, then worked in several different states. But I always came back to Montana, and yes, I wrote a song about it. I am now 82, and I’ve been writing songs about 20 years, seriously about 5 years. My song writing is, and always will be a work in progress.
