Biography:
Sonyah is a soul/hip hop singer, rapper and DJ with a very versatile voice and universe, drawing her musical inspiration both in the current and the retro hip hop, soul, rnb and rock music movements. In the last EP she recorded and untitled "Dream and Reality", her style lies in the blending of hip hop, with related musical genres like trap, new soul, jazz music, ragga, dubstep and even rock music. This mixture of the genres results in a surprising and audacious musicality.
Career Goals | Objectives:
My main goals right now are to get my own public, to have the opportunity to perform live in gigs and to record new qualitative music. Getting signed is also a career objective for me if it's a guarantee to get serious contracts and to be defended/protected as an artist. Eventually, my aim would be to be able to live from my passion for music. More concretely, for some time, I mature a project which would consists in recording and filming covers of soul, hip hop, folk and rock classics, basing me on an original and surprising concept (same principle as the Billboard acoustic sessions or Boyce Avenue). I need to find the good team to realize this project.

Influences | Sounds Like:
Recording my "Dream and Reality" EP, my main inspirations have been singers like Mariah Carey, Rita Ora, Ariana Grande in terms of voice tone, jhene Aiko, Ciara, Keri Hilson, but also Kendrick Lamar and Little Simz for the rapped parts, (above all for the song "Let me leave") in terms of musical universe. Now, my inspirations have evolved and unlarged a lot and I'm turning more to the great classics of black music like The Fugees, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley and to other musical genres like folk, rock and pop music.
