Biography:

I'm a parent, so I don't have time to really address this request or write in a way that makes one excited. I'm tired. That said, raising a child is very enlivening. You get to know you are alive and wanted just about every minute of the day. The minutes you need for yourself often seem fought for and won.

I had my son at the age of 46. I had two miscarriages before having him. I went through IVF. That was exciting, until it was devastating (because it didn't work out). Anyway, the happy ending happened (I got pregnant naturally right after the IVF failed), and my husband and I have a son who is now almost seven. And he's doing his own music of sorts. He's an explosion of creative energy, energy period.

He takes lessons with my music partner, Chris Gibson, who has two beautiful daughters with his wife, Meleah.

I took piano as a kid. I didn't return to playing music myself until I was in my early 30s. I began playing guitar within the Guitar Craft community. The songs that are on the album ( Delightful Angst ~ music for parents ~ the early years) came out of me (the lyrics did) beginning in 2017. I needed something to express how I felt as a parent. Music is good for that! Kids respond so naturally to music. They can pick it all up -- the sounds and words -- so quickly.

Anyway, I am so lucky to know Chris. I went to him and we began with It's Time to Change Your Diaper. I sat in his small studio with my small kiddo and watched him take the ideas I threw at him -- the gist of what I wanted -- and the song was born.

Along the way in making the album, Chris told me to take singing lessons, so I have done that. I'm on a learning curve with my singing. It's all good. I feel like anyone could sing these songs and make them their own. And, of course, I'm grateful to have influences and to be able to do covers! Our song "Sleep" is a cover of I Was Made for Loving You by KISS. Is this enough writing?

I actually do like to and do write. I have a short novel or sorts called Teeny Mommy that needs work but I would love to get it published.

I have to be a good role model, so dirt and dirty habits are on my to do list to banish in my little elementary-school-centered world. I just joined the PTA board even!

Career Goals | Objectives:

To find a way to earn from our first album so that we can keep making albums. I have tons of ideas and just need the resources to make the music. We want to support parents and kids--all people, really--with our music. Our next album is about Menopause.

Music Education | Training | Qualifications:

No, but I and most of my band members have been part of the Guitar Craft community for a long time (for me, since 2004).

Musical Instruments | Studio Equipment:

Ovation guitar, by co-bandmate, Chris Gibson, has all the gear!

Live Performance History | Residencies | Touring Experience:

Yes, but not often. We had a live show to play our whole album in the summer of 2022. We recently shot a music video for the song Snuggle Mama.
