Biography:
The band Zubathaa was founded by guitarist and composer Richard who was later joined by bass player Jakub. Meaning of Zubathha is a wordplay which could be freely translated to english as a Grim Reaper. The band functioned only instrumentally at first. Following personal changes behind drums and vocals, they started looking for a voice that would give the band a face. That happened with Kates´s arrival, and the line-up steadied as follows; Richard (guitars), Jakub (bass), Kristian (drums) and Kate (vocals). The band has various influences from jazz to technical death metal , and it´s not easy to label Zubathaa music within one subgenre. It si something like a blend of death, djent, and progressive metal.
Zubathaa released at 2021 album "Take A Scythe!"
Music is composed by Richard and lyrics are written by Kate. Kate for example say about the song Walking death: "The song may sound like a typical straightforward track with zombie elements at firts. However, it also carries a meaning concerning hunam relations and a desire to end a relationship that still lasts, even though it´s long done. The faith in a scythe mentioned at the end also refers to the belief in the band Zubathaa itself; the scythe is a symbol of death, and therefore aslo the "reaper" who comes for us all one day anyway. So why not start praying to her instead od various fake gods? With Death, we are sure it does exost... Believe in Zubathaa! Did you know that Zubathaa is a woman ?"
