Biography:
I was born in Harlem, New York, developing myself out of the melting pot of cultures in the city. Growing up in Harlem was not always pretty though, Harlem defintly shaped and helped me understand the state the world we live in is in and showed me a lot about people, yet it became clear to me how music would lift my mood and the mood of others. i saw how music brought a smile to peoples faces and in many different ways it brought people together. My family in New York raised me in a religious household and I was taught that music was to be used as worship. because of this my earliest genre was gospel music, learned through my time with family and through church. Growing up in Harlem and the Bronx I was also inspired through genres such as Blues, Jazz hip-hop, and R&B.
At 15 I was moved from New York to Oregon by my father, Oregon was completely different from where I grew up. This was an extreme culture shock for me but with finishing high school and college in those areas I was exposed to more classical and Rock music. When I reached age 22 I finished my bachelor’s degree and moved to Hawaii. In Hawaii, I became immersed in island music and reggae, learning djembe drum s and conga drums. While living in Hawaii I performed countless live shows with just my drum and voice. I have been performing for countless years but am only now getting into promoting and expanding my music’s reach.
