Biography:
I was born and raised in Grand Rapids Michigan with my mother and father and grandparents whom were in different households I have been jumping from house to house since I was 10 years old due to the hardships , and the broken system my family had to endure and overcome a lot of adversity. My parents struggles forced me to grow up fast and take on responsibilities that no kid should ever have to worry about . For example forcing me to take care of myself and my second oldest brother who has a rare condition called chromosome duplication to the 10th. By me being the oldest and having to endure so many responsibilities at a young age made me want a better future for my family and my communities. Because my parents did not reach their goals, during my high school career I participated in many activities that helped shape my leadership abilities. My most rewarding activity was the mayors youth Council in Grand Rapids Michigan. We discussed challenges and opportunities that teenagers are experiencing. Also during my sophomore career in high school I created an organization for students to come and discuss issues that they are facing on a day-to-day basis. I called it “The Keep It Moving program”; Peer mediation: an initiative of success peer mentor. Being the founder of the program showed me a lot of leadership.
