Biography:
Rami & Shlomy Alster, the founders of "Colorful Blue" are well known in the local Jazz scene: After years of playing together a unique sound has emerged, especially because of our strong connection to wind instruments and the variety of music we're influenced by. Our style moves from the familiar to the more complex and experimental pieces, while still maintaining our uniqueness in the more 'familiar' genres. Since 1999 we have founded many combos, some of them standard Jazz quintets and some of them more unusual combos (such as four saxes, trombone and drums) and also large ensembles. Eventually we reached the current format of our group "Colorful Blue". With "Colorful Blue" we play original music or unique arrangements to standards in many genres – Fusion, Blues, Be Bop, Hard Bop, Latin Jazz, Funky Jazz, Ballads, Modal, a combination of Jewish and Arab music with Jazz, and experimental pieces which are less defined stylistically. Our music is usually instrumental but we often host vocalists.

to book more gigs (find a manager) and get more fans to listen to our music on online streaming stores, to subscribe to my YouTube channel and to buy our digital albums via our website.
Music Education | Training | Qualifications:
Yes. 3 years in the music academy in Tel Aviv and 1 year in WPSU New Jersey
Musical Instruments | Studio Equipment:
In concerts each player has his own instrument. I play trombone. When I create music I use Sibelius for writing notes and Cubase for editing and producing.
Influences | Sounds Like:
We have many influences, that's why we perform and record in many subgenres of Jazz. In the Latin Jazz a big influence was Horace Silver and Tito Puente. Other influences: Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, J.J. Johnson, Brecker, Mingus.
